FROM TARANTO to BRINDISI

Travelling the Via Appia

DESCRIPTION
Departing from Taranto through the saltpan, a great depression valley once a resource for salt harvesting, we reach San Giorgio Jonico, among vineyards, olive groves and almond groves, arriving at Carosino for a stop and wine tasting. The journey continues to reach the town of Francavilla Fontana with its wonderful mansions, continuing on to Oria, a medieval town with its fantastic castle, for an overnight stay. 
From Oria, amidst centuries-old olive groves and Primitivo vineyards, we reach Latiano, a brief stop in the direction of the marvellous Mesagne for lunch. The journey resumes to reach the city of Brindisi among expanses of artichoke groves and orchards. 

SERVICES
An overnight stay, food, accommodation, guided tours where necessary, overnight stays almost always in farmhouses or country inns, lunch in the open countryside where possible, visits to dairy farms to watch cheese-making and to wine cellars for wine tasting.

COSTS
Cost per person Euro 800 full tour, fees to be paid 50% upon booking and 50% on departure. 
Insurance coverage for the whole trip. 
Minimum four people, maximum ten.
